Overview

First of all, I hope everyone has had a chance to come out to at least one of the Wed night scrimmages these past few weeks. There has been a great turn out every week and I do hope these numbers are a good indicator of how many people will be officially participating in this league.

We will be having registration starting at 8:30PM this Wed the 25th of August. Registration forms will be available at the field and PLEASE bring $80 (cash/check) so we can complete your registration on the spot. We WILL NOT be accepting registration forms without payment. We HAD designated this coming Wed as the last date for registration (Aug 25th), but due to the increasing number of emails I have been receiving, we have changed the last date for registration to September 1st. I understand that some people will be unable to attend this week(vacation/work/etc.), so if you cannot register this Wed, please do so by September 1st. I am not planning on accepting late registrations due to the number of people interested in participating, but this may be subject to change.

On a different note, for those of you who have heard my little announcements at the beginning of the scrimmages, I am no longer residing in the area. I am seeking someone (or more than one person) to take on my responsibilities for the Adult League. To clarify the requirements of the position, since I volunteered to create this league, I will continue to take on the administrative responsibilities (i.e. creating teams, making sure field space is acquired, ordering jerseys, obtaining refs, etc.) until this season comes to an end. What I need is someone who can commit to showing up for every game, being in charge of organizing the pre-set teams, get the games started, making sure goals are locked and lights are off no later than 10:30PM, etc. For those of you who want and are willing to commit to being a co-coordinator of this league, please email me or track me down this or next Wednesday night.

So, I just wanted to end with a quick thank you to everyone who has come out and shown interest in and support for this league. I am looking forward to getting the season started. Thank you for your time and I hope to see everyone this Wednesday.

Please bring cleats(no metal pronged cleats are allowed) and shin guards. Please bring these items or you will not be able to participate in these scrimmages; NO EXCEPTIONS. And please bring a white and black shirt (light grey or dark blue shirts will work as well). Bringing both shirts will help me organize teams for the first few weeks of play.

Here are some of the specs that we know as of now:

You must have turned 19 by August 1, 2010 to participate.
It will be an 8 week season, similar to the seasons your children participate in the youth AYSO program
The games will be played on Bechet Wed nights at 9PM
The fee will be $80 per player (This will include AYSO, city and field fees, jerseys, etc.)
When the number of players has been finalized, coaches may be assigned to the teams.
This is the first time our region has tried to create this type of adult program, so please be patient and understand that not everything will be perfect :)

Spread the word that an adult league is being created and have everyone who would like to participate come out and play!
