Safety Rules for:
Parents/Caregivers
- Must review and agree to AYSO rules/regulations and new COVID-19 safety procedures prior to the start of the season.
- Are REQUIRED to immediately report a positive COVID-19 test for their child or if their child has had exposure to a COVID-19 positive individual (either within their family or social bubble or otherwise), to the child’s coach. The coach will follow reporting protocols while maintaining confidentiality of the affected player.
For Every Practice Session:
- Must complete the COVID-19 Questionnaire with their player(s) prior to every session. This will be the responsibility of the parent/caregiver. The coach will perform a temperature check at the field. If the answer is ‘YES’ to any questions on the COVID-19 Questionnaire, the player has a temperature of 100.4 F or greater, or feels unwell for any reason, the child will not be allowed to participate, should be kept at home and not come to the field.
- Must make sure that their player brings shin guards (required), a labelled water bottle and hand sanitizer to every session. Parents can require that their child wear a mask (optional).
- Must be punctual in drop-off and pick-up at the field. Must stay with their child until temperature check has been performed. Parents are then requested to leave the field and return to their car. If parents must be on the sidelines (i.e. gender parents), they must maintain social distancing and follow the other safety protocols.
- Must wear cloth masks or face coverings at all times at the fields.
- Are not allowed to enter the field during sessions.
- Are encouraged to wash the player’s clothing and disinfect their shoes, soccer ball, and shin guards after each session.
- Are discouraged from carpooling, especially with players from different teams, unless they are from the same household.
